The South China Warrior

Tigers are carnivores who hunts large mammals and because of the size and power of the South China tiger, it has no natural predators in its native environment. Humans that hunt the South China tiger and habitat loss are the only threats to the tiger. As a consequence; the South China tiger is today considered by scientists to be “functionally extinct,” as it has not been sighted in the wild for more than 25 years. The South China tiger is a reminder that the threat against the world’s tiger is an urgent one.

The work is a 70×50 cm watercolor and ink painting produced in 2012. High quality gicleé prints can be purchased in my Etsy shop
